The Survival Horror

An asteroid is hurtling toward Earth! Before the impact, teams of pupils represent different political parties in power as the government. They need to track the asteroid, model the impact and predict the environmental consequences. Teams must design and finance survival bunkers then prepare and deliver news broadcasts. Then, they must await and model the impact!

Following the impact pupils take the role of 'bunkered survivors'. They face a range of practical problem-solving tasks as they struggle to survive against the odds in a scenario designed to stimulate the most creative thinkers!

"Engages pupils from the outset, stretching their learning capacity to new heights. A mix of diversity and innovation"
Mr D Read, Lead Teacher, Manningtree High School, Essex

This event is delivered in an adventure-story format by an experienced teacher/presenter. Pupils use innovative equipment, a variety of modelling techniques and dramatic PowerPoint presentations in a high-pressure experience. We are happy to deliver the event to a single year group or to mixed year groups.

Each pupil plays a character and must try to 'survive' the challenges of the day! The day is structured to allow various challenges to be completed in parallel, ensuring pupils within a team have a unique day!

As part of the specialist G&T event, we can send you an email to print out: Application Challenge - a problem-solving challenge. We request the forms be completed by participating pupils and returned to us for appraisal. This enables us to adapt the programme to suit your pupils and allows the school to use the information as a reference for the future.
