The Forensic Thriller

A man is found dead in a secluded car park on the outskirts of town. The death is treated as suspicious and investigated by teams of pupils representing crime scene investigators.

Pupils must analyse crime scenes, conduct forensic tests, interpret evidence and scrutinise statements made by suspects. They will use techniques spanning the ages of detection, from fingerprinting through to DNA fingerprinting and analysis. As the complex story unfolds pupils must ensure they work together to analyse all the information in order to draw a conclusion that fits the evidence! Critical thinking skills will be tested to the full!

"A great day! The activities captivated the children - wonderful to see them so engaged.

This event is delivered in a 'Thriller' format by an experienced teacher/presenter. Pupils will use the latest bio-technological equipment and focus on problem-solving techniques to analyse an intricately plotted storyline. We are happy to deliver the event to a single year group or to mixed year groups.

Each pupil plays a member of the investigative team and must try to 'unravel' the challenges of the day! The day is structured to allow various challenges to be completed in parallel, ensuring pupils within a team have a unique day!

As part of the specialist G&T event, we can send you an email to print out: Application Challenge - a problem-solving challenge. We request the forms be completed by participating pupils and returned to us for appraisal. This enables us to adapt the programme to suit your pupils and allows the school to use the information as a reference for the future.
