The Survival Horror

An asteroid is hurtling toward Earth! Before the impact, teams of pupils represent different governments from around the world. They need to track the asteroid and predict the environmental consequences of the impact. Teams must design and finance survival bunkers. Then they must select the population of the bunker and determine how DNA screening will influence their decision. It is the ultimate race against time as their micro-society await the impact! Then teams model the damage caused as the asteroid hits Earth.

Following the impact pupils take the role of 'bunkered survivors'. Every participant will face a range of practical problem-solving tasks, including the construction of efficient generators and electronic sensors as they struggle to survive against the odds in a scenario designed to stimulate the most creative thinkers! This is Citizenship combined with STEM.

"Engages pupils from the outset, stretching their learning capacity to new heights. A mix of diversity and innovation"
Mr D Read, Lead Teacher, Manningtree High School, Essex
